DAB Pregame: Devils Continue Home Stand Against Wild

The Devils are set to face the Wild in the third game of the homestand.- NHL.com

The New Jersey Devils take on the Minnesota Wild this afternoon at Prudential Center. The team is 0-2 on this homestand so far, and they will look to turn it around here. There was a rain of boos on Tuesday night against the Kings when Ilya Kovalchuk showed up. It will be interesting to see if they remain in the house with Zach Parise making another appearance.

Who to Watch

Zach Parise… Of course, this is the key player to watch today. Even though at this point nobody really cares about him, I expect to hear a few boos still. Some Devils fans never truly get over things and we will see if Parise makes a prime example of that. The crowd will stay happy as long as he remains off the score sheet.

Cory Schneider… Schneider was incredible against the first place Islanders, stopping 27 of 28, only to have his team fail him in the shootout. Coach Hynes riding the hot hand is a smart move here. Yes, I said hot hand, you do not have to necessarily win a game to be considered the go-to. We will see how he does in a consecutive game situation.

This one is tricky. With Schneider in net after his best performance since the playoffs last year, he will need to find his game once again. But more importantly the team is going to need to score more than one goal for him. Let’s have faith that they finally will and take the Devils to win by a score of 3-2.

When/Where to Watch
