Meet the Devils Army Blog team!

Tommy Zilinski

Hello Devils fans! My name is Tommy from Bridgewater, and I founded the Devils Army Blog in 2011 when I was a sophomore at Bridgewater-Raritan High School. Since then, I went on to graduate from BRHS, and then attended Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg. After obtaining my associate’s degree in May 2016, I transferred to the University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida, where I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship.

Some fun facts about myself: Outside of hockey, I am a Civil War Reenactor; I love seafood; and I enjoy traveling and spending time in nature! My favorite Devil is none other than #30 Martin Brodeur, and my favorite current Devil is Kyle Palmieri. My favorite Devils moment was Travis Zajac’s overtime winner in Game 6 of the 2012 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Florida Panthers, as it was the most exciting game that I remember being in attendance for.

I oversee all operations of the DAB. I assist with writing and editing articles, maintain our social media accounts, form partnerships with outside organizations, and much more! I’m very visible in the DAB, but I also do many of the behind-the-scenes stuff that ensures you get the smoothest and most reliable Devils fan experience on the interwebs. Thanks for following along!

Corey Beasley
Graphic Designer

Hey all, this Corey! I have been a hardcore Devils fan since the early 90’s. I grew up in Albany, NY where the Devils AHL teams called home (Albany River Rats, Albany Devils) for over 20 years and what pushed me to become a Devils fan. I had the pleasure of watching players like Patrik Elias, Zach Parise, Brian Gionta and many more start out as developing rookies before they made it to the big show in New Jersey.

I joined the DAB in 2013 with a goal to bring as much news about the AHL team and developing players as I could to fans who might not be familar with what the future held. I also began designing many of graphics you see today across the DAB social media pages and website which has now become my primary role with some minor league updates peppered in between, look for the posts tagged with CB.

Today, I reside in Buffalo, NY with my beautiful wife Tabitha, my daughter Isabel and my twin boys Brayden and Bryce. Fun fact about Bryce, his middle name is Martin, named after none other than the legendary #30 himself.

Joe Palma
IT Support

Hey all, my name is Joe and . I live in Northern NJ (It’s TAYLOR HAM you heathens!). I grew up in West Milford, but now residing in Lincoln Park with my Wife. I work in Newark, just a few blocks from The Rock.

I’ve been a Devils fan for as long as I can remember. My very first memory of the Devils was my father flipping through the channels and stopping on a showing of the 1995 cup final at the exact moment Scott Niedermayer started his iconic coast-to-coast goal. I unfortunately stopped watching for a while due to money issues and not having cable most of my childhood. I got back into watching the Devils during their 2012 Playoff and SCF run. Ever since then I’ve watched nearly every game.

I Joined the DAB in 2013 as a game updater, but have since transitioned into more IT/backend working to make sure the website continues running smoothly, but I still help out with game updates from time to time. Luckily we have a great team here that can help out whenever needed.

Aside from hockey, I’m a Saints fan. Not sure how it happened, but here I am. I’m also big into gaming, as well collecting older games. If I’m not playing games, I’m probably relaxing listening to music or enjoying some nice food

Rob DeLuca
NWHL – Riveters Correspondent

Hey Devils Army! My name is Rob and I have been writing for the blog since March 2017. I truly enjoy being a part of this blog every day. I have been a Devils fan my whole life, I believe my first game was when I was four years old in 1999. The best game I ever attended was Game 7 of the 2003 Stanley Cup Finals when the Devils defeated the Mighty Ducks 3-0 to get our third cup! My favorite Devils player is and always will be number 26, Patrik Elias! A fun fact about me is that I am also a die-hard Metropolitan Riveters fan, the new partner of the Devils.

Raj Vaidya Event Organizer

Hey everyone, my name is Raj Vaidya! I am 23 years old and am from West Windsor, NJ. I have been with Devils Army Blog since 2013.
Though I live in Flyers country, I am extremely loyal to my home state. So I have been a lifelong Devils fan. My passion for hockey started when I was a toddler, and eventually I played hockey for a bit too (right defenseman). Currently, my favorite player is Will Butcher but my all time favorite Devil is Jamie Langenbrunner.
I graduated from Rutgers University-New Brunswick in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Minor in Mathematics. Now I’m working full time in my field!
My main goal is to help organize and create events that help bring the Devils community together. However given my technical background, I am also involved in making sure our website is running smoothly and in the stages of planning out a Devils Army Blog app.
Here are some fun facts about me: I can speak 3 languages (English, French, and Marathi), I have a strong understanding of Hindi, and I can read the Cyrillic alphabet (so Russian, Ukrainian, Kazakh, Mongolian, etc).
Apart from that, I’m also a big football fan (go Patriots!). Also, I love photography, traveling, playing card games, and everything about trains.
Follow me on Twitter or Instagram @vaidyeah33. Hope to get to know some of you and let’s go Devils!!!

John Perri
Content Writer

Hey Devils fans! I’m John Perri from Toronto, Ontario and I’ve recently joined Devils Army Blog as a writer. My Devils’ fandom, much to the dismay of my family of Leafs’ fans, rests solely on the shoulders of Marty Brodeur. I always wanted to be a goalie growing up (I am now) and back then Marty and the Devils were on top of their game and I can captivated just by watching their highlights. When I finally had the means to watch Devils’ games with my own laptop I immediately started to follow the Marty and the Devils, and my love for the GOAT turned into an obsession with the rest of the team.

Looking forward to continue writing and sharing my thoughts on the Devils with you all!

James Villani
Content Writer

Hi all, my name is James Villani and I’ve been a part of the Devils Army Blog since 2016. I am from South Jersey, specifically Manahawkin, and currently a business student at Temple University. I’ve been a die-hard Devils fan ever since my uncle took me to my first game in 2010 where former Devils captain Jaimie Langenbrunner recorded his only career hat trick. For this reason my favorite all-time Devil is #15, as I still wear his jersey to every game I attend. Lets Go Devils!!!

Sam Britt
Head Prospect Writer

Hello Devils Army, my name is Sam Britt and I am the head prospect writer on this website. I spend my time watching YouTube highlights and trying to figure out which 18-year-old is better than the others. My greatest achievement at DAB was saying Jesper Bratt could probably be good someday maybe when he was drafted, so you could say I am a bit of a prophet. I go to school at Saint Joseph’s University for English, communications, and film, three fields with no money. I hope to end up writing about hockey or sports in general full time and if that doesn’t happen I’ll just have to sell my body on the streets. It’s a living.

Hometown: Deep in Rangers Country
Favorite Devil of all-time: Adam Henrique
Favorite Current Devil: Nico Hischier
How long I’ve been a fan: Since the Cup run in 2012

Chris Mott

Hello all, my name is Chris and I’m a die hard and passionate Devils fan living in Florida! I’ve been in Florida for about 2 years now but am originally from the Garden State. I grew up in Long Valley until I was about 12 years old but went to school in Basking Ridge until middle school when I moved to Long Hill Township so shout out to all my people in those neck of the woods! I live, eat, and breathe hockey.

I’ve been playing since mites all the way through 4 years of D2 ACHA at Monmouth University where I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering. I’m currently working full-time and plan on going back to school to begin my Master’s Degree this fall 2018. I still play hockey in adult leagues and love to go to the gym as well as play guitar and listen to music.

My favorite current Devil is Brian Boyle and my favorite Devil of all-time is Scott Stevens. My content on here will not only focus on the Devils but also on the League as a whole. Matt Cook
Social Media

Hi all! My name is Matt and I am from Bridgewater, NJ. I am a graduate of The College of New Jersey (Computer Engineering) and Bridgewater-Raritan High School (that’s where I met Tommy).

I fell in love with the game of hockey after winning tickets to a Devils game in the 2010/11 season. Prior to that, I knew nothing about it. Now I go to almost any game I can make it to (although the student discounts helped accomplish that).

I joined the DAB in December of 2013 to help with game-day updates. Now I also help with managing the website and other social media platforms we’ve expanded to.

A fun fact is that I had planned a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL for January of 2018. The week I had chosen just happed to coincide with the Devils bye week. A few days before I left for the trip, I saw an NHL.com article saying that some players from the team were heading to Walt Disney World for a family vacation during the bye week. I thought to myself, Walt Disney World is massive, what are the odds that I’ll run into any of them, let alone be in the same park? The first day there, I ended up running into Cory Schneider at Magic Kingdom and got a selfie with him. That was definitely a highlight of my trip.
