The New Jersey Devils are coming off of a 3-0 loss to the Washington Capitals last night and will look to beat down the New York Rangers in the next chapter of the rivalry. While injuries have been plaguing the Devils for a while and a lot of players from the Binghamton Devils (AHL) are receiving a chance to play because of it, the Devils are slowly becoming more healthy. Last game, Kyle Palmieri came back from his injury and John Quenneville also returned from injury. Unfortunately the Devils still fell short to the defending Stanley Cup Champion Washington Capitals. However, tonight should be an exciting game for fans as the Devils and Rangers are getting together for another chapter in the Hudson River Rivalry. The game is going to be at 7pm ET and can be seen on MSG+2 for the Devils broadcast.
What to Watch For
Continue to watch the young guys – try and take advantage of this opportunity and moment. Recently, Devils fans have had a chance to see some of the talent in the Devils minor league system. Some of these names may be the future of the organization, some names fans may never hear again after this year. That being said, the Devils are clearly building up the talent where they can for the future and this can help offer fans a chance to see the talent the team has. Mackenzie Blackwood has been pretty solid and had a nice save on Alex Ovechkin in the Devils loss last night.
This is Devils vs Rangers, what more do I need to say. This is a game I’m very much looking forward to because anything can happen in rivalry games and fans have seen time and time again that big things always happen in these games between these two teams. While both teams may not have many very meaningful games left this season, I guarantee that the players always look forward to trying to beat down the other team, whether it’s on the scoreboard or physically. I’ll leave a clip below of one of the many iconic moments in this rivalry that can be found on YouTube. My prediction is that the Devils will come out on top and the youngsters will find a way to step up tonight.
