The Albany Devils are Returning to Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City
As the saying goes, the cream always rises to the top and as a Devils General newbie I was thrilled to take part in an event, that included the crème de la crème of the NJ Devils top brass. Last week, I had the privilege of joining Prudential Center’s PR extraordinaire, Kerry Graue and esteemed Devils General, @SpeakoftheDevs, Carlos Figueiredo for a press conference announcing the Albany Devils returning to Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
My alarm clock was set to the unspeakable hour of 5:30 a.m. which gave me enough time to get ready to meet the group at the Prudential Center at 7:15 am. Yes, that was AM. Armed with containers of caffeine we made the trip down to Atlantic City to Boardwalk Hall. Once inside the building I was struck by the 137 foot-high barrel vault ceiling. Built in 1929 it was touted as an architectural marvel at the time. Today, it is simply just an awesome place to watch hockey.
As the press conference neared, the attendees starting entering the Hall and among the first was Mr. Lamoriello himself. Shortly thereafter, Mr.Vanderbeek, Matt Loughlin, Devil’s alumni Ken Daneyko, Grant Marshall, Jim Dowd, Bruce Driver, NJ, Lt Gov. Kim Guadano and other dignitaries arrived. Mr. Lamoriello then made his way to the podium, and the official announcement ceremony was underway. “Our organization is looking forward to bringing some of our top prospects to historic Boardwalk Hall. It is a great opportunity for our fans in New Jersey, and a great experience for some of our young players to play in the Garden State,” he said.
The four games will be contested on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. Fans will be able to enjoy the Albany Devils face off against popular rivals on the following dates:
November 25th vs. Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins)
January 13th vs. Bridgeport Sound Tigers (NY Islanders)
January 20th vs. Adirondack Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers)
February 24th vs. Hershey Bears (Washington Capitals)
Now that the Albany Devils will be playing four games in AC why not make the trip and get a hockey fix. You will see current and future NHL players hit the ice and watch the puck drop again. You can’t beat the combination of Adam Henrique, AC’s hotels & casinos and a great afternoon of hockey. Tickets are on sale now and hope to see you there!
