Game Preview – Game 44: Your New Jersey Devils vs Winnipeg Jets
New Jersey Devils (24-17-2, 50 points) vs Winnipeg Jets (20-18-5, 45 points)
3:00 PM EST
TV: MSG+
Radio: WFAN 660 AM
Matchup:
The Devils will play their final game on this road trip against the Jets. This is the third match-up between these two teams, each winning a game at home. The first game back in November against the Jets was a coming out party for Adam Henrique as he scored 2 goals in the game, including an overtime winner to lead the Devils to victory.
Stepping Stone Game:
The Devils beat the Oilers in overtime on Wednesday on a beautifully set-up goal by Patrik Elias to Zach Parise. The Devils are 6-3-1 over their last 10 games and are searching for consistency. With a win and loss on this road trip so far, another win could get them into a much needed groove in a tightly packed Eastern Conference race.
Ilya Kovalchuk:
Everyone wants to talk about Kovalchuk. The good, the bad, the ugly, but lately it’s been all great. Kovalchuk currently has four consecutive multi-point games, with 5 goals in that span, including a beautiful short-handed goal against the Oilers. This will be only his second game ever in Winnipeg and one of the only arenas he’s never scored a goal in. Today would be a great day for that.
Projected Devils Lineup:
Parise (C) – Henrique – Kovalchuk (A)
Sykora – Elias (A) – Zubrus
Janssen – Zalewski – Clarkson
Boulton – Carter – Tedenby
Salvador – Larsson
Taormina – Foster
Tallinder – Fayne
Brodeur
Hedberg
Scratches: Zajac, Josefson, Palmieri
