Andy Greene and Johan Hedberg Re-Sign with the Devils

It’s official. The New Jersey Devils have re-signed Andy Greene and Johan Hedberg.

Andy Greene, our 28 year old defenseman, will be starting his sixth season with the Devils with a new multi-year contract. He’s finished first in scoring among our defense during the past two seasons with four goals and 19 assists for a total of 23 points. In 2009-10 he stacked up his career high 37 points with six goals and 31 assists.

Johan Hedberg, one of our beloved goaltenders, has earned his spot in all of our hearts this past season coming through when we really needed him to. He was signed to a one year deal to keep playing in black and red. Last season he saw action in 34 games, starting in 27 of them. He had a 2.38 goals-against average and posted a 15-12-2 mark with three shut outs.

We’re glad to have them both back. Is it October yet?
